Someone who appears to be a little bit preoccupied with the rules might have posted the internal White House phone directory.

Inspiring and Sad at the Same Time

Fifty school children (albeit, the best and the brightest of this year's graduating seniors) turned a tour of the White House and visit with the alleged president into an opportunity to give him a handwritten letter urging him to do everything in his power to end all the well documented human rights abuses currently being perpetrated by the Bush-Cheney junta.

Republicans Prefer Violence

Taking an obvious conflict-resolving lead from the Bush-Cheney junta, a Republican member of the Alabama legislature attempted to exert his political will by punching a Democrat with whom he disagreed. Charlton Heston is expected to arrive shortly with a surge of pro-violence reinforcements from the NRA.

Homeland "Security" Inappropriately Targets Gay, Lesbian, and Environtmentally Concerned Americans for Intimidation and Harassment

Apologists for the United States' pathetic and deplorable slide into fascism [and especially for allowing the Bush-Cheney junta to get away with election fraud twice] would like to explain away this web page as the ramblings of a bigoted Alabaman whose internet user privileges need to be curtailed. The page was pulled down after a minor hubbub began to swirl around it on the web. [Of course, most corporate "news" outlets ignored the story until the existence of widely read independent bloggers made that impossible.] Ganymede's Ghost obtained the copy shown above from a Google cache after simply searching the Alabama Homeland Security URL for the word gay. It was the only hit despite the fact that they tried to remove it. Having just been singled out for antigay harassment by a homeland "security" associate myself [for the putative offences of wearing a belt and forgetting to remove my keys and iPod from my pockets at an airport checkpoint] over a thousand miles away from Alabama in the birthplace of our liberty, I suggest that this web page is indicative of a national policy directive that is not yet widely publicized.

Dick Cheney Is Full of Shit

Responding to a shortage of virgin unicorn blood, doctors seem to have discovered that pumping Dick Cheney full of shit has slowed the process believed to be turning him into a giant blood clot. We may all rejoice in the fact the process has been slowed down enough to allow him to continue the Bush-Cheney junta's assualt on the rule of law.

Wondering Whether to Buy Groceries or Gas this Month?

Don't forget you'll need some gas to get to the store and to transport your groceries home. MoveOn has a petition you can sign. They're lobbying Congress to end special tax breaks for Big Oil, pass antiprice-gouging legislation, and to ensure that existing antitrust laws are enforced and applied.

I'm Not Sure If This Will Help, But I Feel The Need To Try

According to MoveOn.org, there will be hundreds of emergency veto rallies across the country today to protest the president's impending veto of a military spending bill that requires him to begin extricating our family members in the troops from the sectarian disaster he has allowed to unfold in Iraq. I plan to attend the rally on the northwest corner of Center Square (Philadelphia City Hall) at 5:15 today with my friend Jason [with whom I was planning to attend the Night of a Thousand Stevies in a few short weeks—until I saw the "film" that started it all, Gypsie 83, which was an entertaining movie even though it inaccurately stereotyped Pennsylvania and its inhabitants in several ways].

So anyway, if you go to a rally [here's where to find one more convenient for you if Center City doesn't work], bring pots, pans, noisemakers, and creative signs. The one in Center City will convene at Center Square and proceed down Market to Senator Specter's office at 6th and Market in the square brown [appropriate color choice if you like bullshit] federal office building. He's been saying he wants to bring our family members in the troops home as soon as possible and that Congress must hold the executive branch constitutionally accountable, but he continues to vote for the Bush-Cheney junta's profoundly flawed policies that were formulated on cynical lies and distortions intended only to enrich materialistically his cronies in certain military-industrial sectors of the economy. Strangely, local corporate media outlets have been ignoring this dishonest behavior. The organizers of today's rally intend to change that.

Dennis Kucinich Has More Balls Than the Rest of Congress Combined

Last weekend I got into a drunken "discussion" with my friend Amy about why Bush and Cheney haven't been impeached and removed from office yet. Despite her formidable intelligence and respectable education, she contended that the reason was that they haven't actually done anything illegal. [They don't get good real news in the LA bubble, so it's not entirely her fault.] I contended that the list of crimes [or impeachable offenses] was at least as long as the 600,000+ civilians who have lost their lives in the Bush-Cheney junta's illegal invasion of Iraq [so that would be 600,000 counts of murder] and the 3000+ American soldiers whose lives have been pointlessly sacrificed in the same invasion [which would be 3000 counts of grossly negligent manslaughter]. Then, there's all that evidence of Republican-orchestrated election fraud in Florida in 2000 and Ohio and elsewhere in 2004, which still continues to mount [when did that molehill turn into a mountain so big its shadow covers all of doubt's?], but I was drunk and not in possession of all my words or inside voice.

Well finally, at least one person in Congress has his shit together enough to put together an official resolution listing the actual crimes in sober language and introduce it for consideration in the House of Representatives. Speaker Pelosi says she has other priorities and that Bush isn't worth it. This is a good excuse for her because she's a pragmatist who must govern from the middle if she wants to keep her position of power. We all know that there aren't sixty-seven US Senators with consciences, which means the likelihood of removing Bush or Cheney from office is close to null. Pelosi probably sees impeachment as an unacceptable waste of her time and resources. She might be right, but it would also waste the time and resources of the Bush-Cheney junta. That means they'd have fewer resources with which to attack gay and lesbian Americans as well as to plan future illegal invasions and election frauds. That alone should be enough of a reason to let the show begin.

Dick Cheney Is Still Alive

Thanks to the provider of the fresh virgin unicorn blood [I think]. Now we can finally impeach Cheney [maybe {and then Bush, and then Nancy Pelosi would be Queen!}].
Quickly! Someone bring more fresh virgin unicorn blood! Cheney is turning back into a giant clot, and Kucinich won't introduce the Articles of Impeachment until he's on the mend.

Here's another reason [besides preserving life on Earth] that the Bush-Cheney junta's antienvironment policies are a bad idea. They increase the risk for events, such as wars over water and massive migration of refugees from flooded coastal regions, that will adversely affect our national security.

This most recent power-grabbing initiative by the Bush-Cheney junta can best be described as totalitarian bullshit. I'd still think twice about it even if we had a legitimately elected and ethical admistration in the White House that was actually trying to protect us from terrorists instead of illegally spying on US citizens with whom it disagrees.
Once again, the Bush-Cheney junta proves itself utterly incapable of making the world a safer place. Maybe they should try some do-as-I-do policy initiatives. Clearly, the do-as-I-say initiatives are becoming increasingly counterproductive.

It keeps getting worse

In response to the almost complete and utter disintigration of civil order and political stability in Iraq that has resulted from an illegal and poorly conceived US-led invastion and occupation, the Bush-Cheney junta insists on sending more of what made the situation so volatile in the first place–soldiers, threats of further violence, and more deadly violence. The only way to end this war could very well be to remove Bush and Cheney from office as soon as possible. They have proven themselves too pigheaded to admit that they fucked it up "bigtime" and need to change course.

ITMFA!

Bald-faced lying with no oath, transcript, recording, press, or witnesses representing the general public would be okay. Bald-faced lying in a congressional hearing room, under oath, with witnesses and recording devices present seems to have been causing some difficulties in making the public "hear the truth."

The War Is Over!

No, but yeah, but no. Well, at least somebody in Congress has the balls to ask us if it should be. You have to go all the way to Salt Lake to find an elected official who is willing to recommend impeachment publicly.
